Lava Hot Springs Second Annual Gingerbread House Walking Tour!
November 26 - December 31, 2011
The Gingerbread House Walking Tour will be in the downtown business area. A Gingerbread House map and walking brochure will be available so you will be sure to see all the fun and decorative houses! The houses will be displayed in window fronts or in lobbies. At each location, there will be a ballot box to vote for your favorite house. The winning business will receive a cash award from a portion of the entry fee for their staff to use for a holiday party!
Displays will remain on exhibit until December 31st. The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will count the ballots and announce the best Gingerbread house winner on Saturday, January 1, 2012.
One voter name will be pulled from the ballot that is from outside of the county who will win a vacation back to Lava Hot Springs and one local name will be pulled to win a fun prize. So, voting pays! Gingerbread House Event Contact: Gail Palen, Riverside Hot Springs Inn 208-241-4305.
To compliment the celebrations, a Gingerbread Man Decorating party will be held from 10am-2pm every Saturday from November 26 through December 17, 2011 at the Greystone Manor Bed & Breakfast. Pre-baked Gingerbread Men & all the necessary decorations will be available for a small fee of $3 per cookie. Other festivities during the decorating parties include the arrival of Santa Claus!
Gingerbread Tuck-ins will be available Friday & Saturday nights from 7-9pm, at local lodging establishments for children 12 and under. Tuck the kids into bed and a “gingerbread costumed” boy & girl will read the youngster short holiday story and leave a cookie on the bed stand. Limited times are available.
